When Jason Frost and Brandon Key went fishing in the Black Warrior River in Alabama a year ago, they had no idea what they could fish. Never in their wildest dreams would they have imagined that this would turn into a “cat hunting” trip, which is exactly what happened when they rescued two catfish swimming from the shore at seeking safety on their boat.

“You won’t believe what’s swimming towards our boat. A kitten,” Frost says in the currently circulating video about the plight of cats.

“This puts a new spin on the term ‘catfishing’”

Although very wet and quite terrifying, cats are good swimmers and seem grateful for the rescue. In the video at the end of the article, Frost believes they were located there by their previous owners.

After reaching dry land, Frost and Key met a family that absolutely fell in love with the kittens and adopted them. Their names were later changed to River and Warrior.
