Crumb also received support from her fellow UPS colleagues, with one of them covering her shift while others joined the surprise gathering. They intentionally parked their vehicles down the street to maintain the secrecy of the event.
Jane Strini, Crumb’s supervisor, was present as well and expressed, “In times like these, it’s heartwarming to witness a community coming together and giving her the recognition she deserves. She embodies the spirit of UPS – that’s who she is.”
Lehtman also acknowledged Crumb’s unwavering work ethic and her consistent willingness to go above and beyond. He shared, “Every person has a story where she’s gone the extra mile, like delivering groceries when someone had a broken arm.”
Clearly, Crumb is a cherished member of the Clayton community. She reciprocates this affection for the residents, stating, “I adore this route. I cherish my job. I look forward to coming to work every day, and I never complain about it. It’s truly wonderful, you know, and this is why… Maintaining a positive attitude is effortless when you realize how fortunate you are to have a job.”
With her dedication and enthusiasm, it’s evident that Crumb will continue to serve Clayton for years to come. “That’s why I plan to retire on this route,” she earnestly declared while surrounded by enthusiastic residents.
Crumb then lightened the mood with a touch of humor, adding, “And the only reason I have a route is because, you guys, love to shop online!” She quipped, “I have a special place in my heart for online shoppers. They may not sign my paycheck, but they definitely provide the materials for it.”
