The decision of all these people not to kiss the special little girl brought good luck to Italian Luca Trapanese, 41.
When Luca completed the adoption papers, he did not really believe that the social services would allow him to become the legal father of Alba, because in his homeland it is not uncommon for a single man to obtain custody. .
But since not all of these families wanted to adopt a child with Down syndrome and Luca was more than happy to have such a child in his life, he took in Alba and became his rightful father.
By the time he welcomed the kind Alba into his life, he had become the happiest person on earth. The journey of this father and daughter started in 2017 and since then they have stolen the hearts of many.
Luca has a heart of gold. He has been part of many social service programs over the years and has volunteered with many organizations that help people with disabilities find their place in society. Among others, he was part of the “A Ruota Libera” foundation that helps children with Down syndrome.
This is one of the reasons why Luca wants to adopt a child with Down syndrome despite not having a partner.
Finalizing the adoption process has been a difficult process, with adoption agencies preferring “traditional” families over non-traditional ones.
“For me, a disabled child is not a second choice, but a conscious choice in relation to my profession and my abilities,” Luca said.
