Shelter staff at the Paws and Hooves Rescue Foundation in Stilwell, Oklahoma, showed up to work one morning in a closed, taped pink container. They had a pretty good idea of what might be inside, but were still amazed when they opened that lid.
The holes drilled in the side of the container barely worked as the pups were gasping for air once the lid was removed. The puppies were in dire need of water and medical care. When a vet examined her, he found that some of the puppies were on the verge of death.
But with so much love and care, all the pups have been passed thanks to the hard work of their caregivers! The shelter has made a public plea not to abandon the animals with such cruelty, and they hope this story serves as a lesson. All of these puppies are adopted into loving forever homes, but not all abandoned pets may be so lucky.
