Jeanick Fournier’s song choice during her performance on Canada’s Got Talent perfectly embodied the fearless and confident persona she exudes on stage. Taking on one of Celine Dion’s most challenging songs, “I Surrender,” Fournier effortlessly showcased her remarkable vocal technique, stamina, and passion as she belted out the timeless hit.
Even before the first chorus, host Lindsay Ell was already taken aback, and the entire audience was in awe of Fournier’s performance. All four judges were cheering and visibly shocked by her stunning rendition, giving her a well-deserved standing ovation.
After her performance, Fournier was visibly shaking and overwhelmed by the judges’ and audience’s reception. Judge Mandel praised her incredible talent, noting that she sang like an “angel” and was “out of this world.”
Ell took to the stage, which she does not usually do, to hug an emotional Fournier before heading to the judges’ bench to express her admiration for the contestant. “I think you made all of Canada smile tonight, and Jeanick, I choose you!” Ell exclaimed before hitting the golden buzzer, sending Fournier straight to the finals.
In the finals, Fournier faced off against other talented performers, including singer-songwriter Kellie Loder, comedian Courtney Gilmour, dance group The Renegades, and magician Savio Joseph, among others. In the end, Fournier emerged as the winner of Canada’s Got Talent’s second season.
Following her victory, Fournier released her self-titled debut album through Universal Music Canada, debuting at No. 13 on the Canadian Albums Chart. In November 2022, Fournier was confirmed to be a part of “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” in 2023, cementing her status as a rising star in the entertainment industry.
