The Swansons are a loving family who have opened their homes to many dogs. One day, they decide to add another dog to their home: a special-needs bull named Emma.
Emma has a birth defect called polyradiculoneurus, which she contracted from a toxoplasmosis infection in the womb. This disease causes inflammation of the dog’s nerves and muscle contraction. The disease also paralyzed Emma’s hind legs. Most puppies infected with this disease die shortly after birth. But miraculously Emma survived and thrived.
Emma loves her family, but is especially close to her father, a US Air Force officer. When it was published for six months, Emma and her father were devastated to say goodbye.
At the end of her six-month period, Emma’s father returned home. The pilot’s wife, Melissa Swanson, made a video when the loving father found his dogs. Take the wipes before you look, you’ll need them!
Emma’s siblings ran to their father and jumped on him and cried for joy. Emma crawled to the floor, unable to contain her excitement. Her father lifted her up and pulled her while her face lit up with pure joy.
Emma is a sweet dog who loves her family and never lets herself down. She’s also her daddy’s girl from start to finish!
