The connection between the fated couple becomes even more remarkable given the odds stacked against them. With around 400 annual births at Lakeview Hospital, the likelihood of Mary Ann assisting in Kelsey’s delivery seemed incredibly small. Their families lived in different counties, and their paths never crossed until that fateful day in August 2021 when Tyler walked into the credit union where Kelsey worked.

During Kelsey’s birth, the bond between Mary Ann and Stacy was undeniable. Mary Ann, drawing from her own experience, provided support to Stacy, easing her anxieties during a challenging labor with a “rare velamentous cord insertion.” Stacy cherished the memory, including Mary Ann’s photo in her daughter’s baby book, preserving the connection.

Introducing their parents before the wedding, an unexplainable familiarity was felt, and the revelation of Mary Ann being Stacy’s delivery nurse left everyone astounded. On May 25, 2023, Kelsey and Tyler West exchanged vows, sharing their extraordinary story with captivated guests.

“I had both my moms in the room with me when I was born, and you know that’s something that’s really touching,” the bride shared in an interview with Fox 13 News Utah.

Stacy added, “When Kelsey was born, Mary Ann was the first one to say ‘welcome to the world.’ She touched Kelsey before I did. For Kelsey to have both of her moms bond with her is the most peaceful gift.”
