When an elderly woman in phone distress accidentally calls a Stratstone BMW dealership in the UK, Dang Vuong turns the experience into an incredible act of kindness.
The receptionist alerted Dang, the sales manager, to a call from a woman in her 80s who had fallen in her bathroom.
The woman intended to call her daughter, but Dang didn’t think twice about the mistake and immediately went to her home to help her.
“My first thought was that I should help her and make sure she was okay,” Dang said. “I made sure our receptionist stayed on the line until she arrived.”
He finds the front door to her house open, goes in, and then finds her on the bathroom floor with a cut on her face and the bathtub overflowing.
He said “I felt I had to go help because I couldn’t live with myself if something happened to her and I didn’t even try. If it was my grandfather, how would I feel if she was left alone?”
The woman was surprised at first, but was very grateful to Dang who bandaged her wound and helped her lie down on the sofa.
“I grew up helping people, especially people older than me,” he said.
Once settled, Dang waited with her until a family member arrived.
Once the woman’s granddaughter, Sarah Tweedy, heard of Dang’s heroic act of kindness to her grandmother, she posted this message on social media;
“I would like to say a big thank you to the manager of BMW Silverlink for helping my grandmother today. After a fall in her house this morning I tried to call my mom but got two numbers wrong, prompting her to call BMW.
The manager got in his car and drove straight to her house where he found her on the floor, her bathroom almost ready to flood He came to get her and was able to contact us on his mobile phone while he stayed with her until my mother arrived.”
“We can’t thank him enough for what he’s done for her, there are people who really care and care unacknowledged for what they do. And I hope someone sees what makes him so. He knows and can see how grateful we are! I’ll also call him to thank him personally. Feel free.” in sharing this post.”
“They are very grateful for my actions,” Dang said of the family. “I didn’t think of it, because I hope any other human being would do the same.”
