Teen returns lost wallet and receives reward
Adrian Rodriguez
Adrian Rodriquez found the bag at Ralph’s in Chula Vista, California.
Using the address on the driver’s license inside the bag, Adrian walked to the house and knocked on the front door.
The wallet belonged to Eliana Martin, Melina Marquez’s former roommate. Martin hasn’t changed his address since his last move, so the wallet is taken to the Marquis.
Marquis wasn’t home when Adrian arrived. He had left it with a relative at home and the interaction was captured by Marquez’s Ring Camera.
“I looked at the Ring camera and said, ‘Oh my God. It’s a little boy. “We have to find him and give him some gratitude,” Marquez recalled.
I posted Adrian’s video on Facebook and the Chula Vista community quickly took off.
“I woke up and got a bunch of messages like, ‘Oh, is that you?'” Adrian said. “
The ladies invited her to the marquis so that Martin could say his thanks to her in person. They also launched a GoFundMe page in his honor.
The online fundraiser received 677 donations, totaling $15,145.
“It feels good. I appreciate it. I really do, everything everybody else does,” Adrian told NBC News. “My mother always told me since I was little to always do the right thing when no one is around.”
“It’s something we really need. It’s good news, positive news,” smiled Melina Marquez.
