Vaseline may be found in practically every household in the United States. It’s a well-known brand that’s utilized for a variety of purposes! Vaseline, on the other hand, has been shown to be very damaging in studies.

If you have chapped lips or burns, you should cease using Vaseline right away. This is especially true with petroleum jelly. It was first discovered in the mid-nineteenth century when it was employed to coat the bottoms of oil rigs. Vaseline has been shown to be wholly artificial and to include elements that are potentially harmful to your health!

The fundamental function of petroleum jelly is to soothe and care for the skin. However, this isn’t the case. Vaseline creates a condition on your skin that encourages microorganisms to multiply! It also makes your pores close up! It also has a lot of hydrocarbons.

Hydrocarbons are substances made up solely of hydrogen and carbons. Under normal circumstances, the hydrocarbons behind air pollution are gases (or volatile hydrocarbons). Bacterial breakdown of organic waste, forest fires, and plants are all key sources of hydrocarbons. 1/6th of all hydrocarbons in the atmosphere come from incomplete combustion of gasoline-fueled automobiles and industrial pollutants. These substances have the potential to be exceedingly hazardous to your health! Petrolatum’s negative effects include detecting petroleum byproducts in breast cancers, skin suffocation, accelerated aging, and worsened acne.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), a petrolatum contaminant, have been linked to breast cancer in studies conducted at Columbia University.  Researchers found that women with breast cancer had 2.6 times more PAHs in their DNA than women who did not have the disease. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are byproducts of fuel combustion that may be found in coal, oil and tar deposits. Mutations in the genes of test animals with breast cancer were also found to include PAHs.

Petroleum jelly suffocates the skin, according to other research. According to the Herb Research Foundation, the skin absorbs up to 60% of the chemicals in products it comes into touch with, and these chemicals then enter the circulation system. Petrolatum, which was designed for its cost-effective glide in makeup application, suffocates the skin and absorbs these chemicals straight into the circulation, reducing oxygen received via the skin, according to the Organic Make-up Company.

Ingestion and absorption of various carcinogens, such as nicotine, environmental pollution, and chemical additives, may boost free radicals, causing the skin and organs to age prematurely or wear prematurely. Many cosmetics include petrolatum, which may cause skin irritation and rashes. Skin that does not obtain enough oxygen, as described in the Herb Research on skin suffocation, may cause skin cells to die, resulting in accelerated aging.
