There is so little information about these creatures that humans rarely encounter them in the natural environment.
However, videos can be found on the Internet in which the giant squid was filmed up close.
One of these videos surfaced online in 2017 when a surfer in the sea encountered a giant squid up close. He grabbed his plate with claws and the entire scene was captured by the camera.
Giant squids reach up to 13 meters (42 ft) in length, but there has already been public testimony that they have also seen a giant squid measuring 20 meters (65 ft) in length, but these claims have not been reliably confirmed.
