Two years later, the boy was adopted by an American family and his name was Kirk Kellerhals. He was raised in the United States away from his biological mother. They had a long, life-changing journey for Kirk and Nibelt. Not only did she meet her long-lost son for the first time, but she also met his stepmother as well as her grandchildren.
