Two years later, the boy was adopted by an American family and his name was Kirk Kellerhals. He was raised in the United States away from his biological mother. The adoptive family remained honest about his adoption, and Kirk assumed his parents died in the Vietnam War. This is the reason for his arrival at the orphanage.
He lived with this belief until it changed one day, nearly half a decade later. Wanting to know more about his origins, Kirk provided his information in a single DNA database on the Internet.
A few weeks later, Kirk received a strange email, seemingly vague, and not entirely clear. The email contained a phone number to call from. Although he didn’t know what it was, he decided to call the number.
On the other side of the call was a woman, and the words she spoke as she answered the call chilled Kirk’s feet. She tells Kirk that she thinks he is her son.
Soon, Kirk and Madame began to exchange stories and information about each other. Their engagement revealed that Kirk was born the same day Nadlet gave birth to her son.
At the time, the online DNA database contacted Kirk to inform him that they had found a DNA match, but he rejected the result. However, he thought that thanks to the stranger on the call, he had finally found his mother.
Nebelet no longer lives in Vietnam as she immigrated to Texas, America. She was married and so she and her husband planned a trip to meet Kirk.
They had a long, life-changing journey for Kirk and Nibelt. Not only did she meet her long-lost son for the first time, but she also met his stepmother as well as her grandchildren.
It was a very moving moment, a family reunion like no other. Nablet couldn’t hold back her tears as she hugged her son for the first time.
