Recently, an Italian farmer named Christian Mallucci welcomed the arrival of five newborn puppies at his home. They were born on a farm on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia.
While all four of Pistachio’s siblings had white fur, the cutie had an unusual coat – green fur. And his name Pistachio reflects this. It matches, right?
For this thing, the green fluffy boy is going to be kept on his farm. Meanwhile, his brothers and sisters will find their new homes. Pistachio will be trained to look after the sheep on the farm with his mother.
Regarding pistachio green fur, there are two explanations for this.
Green fur coloration occurs when a dog with light-colored fur is contaminated with “meconium” in the mother’s womb, the oldest excrement produced by an infant. It can also be caused by a green pigment in the mother’s uterus called biliverdin.
