When you become a mom, everything changes. Responsibilities change and your children become a top priority. Most mothers never leave their children in danger or without care where harm may befall.
This mother is unlike most mothers.
According to Inside Edition, Erin Lee Mackie has been named “America’s Worst Mom.” It’s because she made a bad decision. She decided to take time off work and take a vacation without her children. I left for 8 days. Meanwhile, Irene left four children at home with a gun while on vacation in Europe.
In September 2017, the Johnston Police Department in Iowa received a call that the children had been left home alone while their mother was on vacation. The police came out for a check and were shocked to learn that it was really true.
On arrival they were informed that the mother had only left for Europe the day before and would not return for 12 days. It was not enough care for the children because they were too young to take care of themselves. The children consisted of a set of twins at the age of 12 and also girls at the ages of 6 and 7.
And the mum made things worse by posting travel photos and updates to her Instagram. She was not at all afraid to spread the fun she had at the Wallhalla Memorial in Bavaria and other places she visited. The police did not hesitate to call Mackie.
She was told that she had to go home to take care of her children as soon as possible. But, Mackie didn’t think she had done anything wrong and the kids would be okay.
Johnston Police Department’s Lynn Aswegan spoke about how carefree Mackie was and didn’t seem to agree with him on custody of the children. She seemed to think she could handle things through her family members. Although Maki was told to return immediately, she did not make the return trip for 7 days.
According to FOX News, she was arrested upon her return and received 4 charges of child endangerment. She was also charged with passing a gun to someone under the age of 21, although the charge was later dropped as part of a settlement.
The twins have been placed with an extended family and the younger girls live with their father, Matthew, who is Mackie’s ex-husband. The child endangerment charge can go up to 8 years, but the judge only sentenced her to two years probation.
