Victor Johannessen from Sweden was with his partner when they saw movement in the frozen Nyreby Lake. Here’s what he wrote at the bottom of the video:

On our way to the hole, we saw moose making several attempts to get out of the water, but were unable to get up or break the ice to reach shore.

My partner, Sigrid Sjösteen, scrambled to dig a path into the shallows, where they could reach the bottom and get out. We took turns cutting for 30 minutes before the moose were out of danger.
