A man was driving on a road in Australia when he saw something strange. He was about to pass a cattle guard, a roadblock that prevents cattle from crossing the road and leaving the grazing area.
But something was wrong. In the middle of the net, he saw two feet sticking out between the metal bars.
The cattle guard is built to prevent cattle from crossing the road using a network of metal rails with deep holes underneath. Cars can pass directly over the guard, but cows will not attempt to pass through it. But, another animal attempted to get past the cattle guard – and it found itself upside down, half of its body trapped under the net.
When the man approached he saw it was a kangaroo.
The man had to be careful but also knew that he had to help the trapped animal. He grabbed the struggling kangaroo by the hind legs and pulled as hard as he could. But, freeing the animal was no easy feat!
