The Fabletics founder and actress Kate Hudson welcomed her third child into the world last year, a girl. The star opened up about how she will be raising the child genderless.
Hudson was already mum to Ryder, 15, and Bingham, 7, when she recently gave birth to a baby girl. In an interview with AOL, the star opened up about her approach to raising a daughter.
“There’s definitely a difference. I think you’re raising your kids individually, like a genderless [approach]. We still don’t know what she’s going to know. I will say she’s now incredibly feminine in his energy and his voice and his manner.”
The actress admitted that she loves buying clothes for her daughter. “It’s very different for boys,” she said, “and it’s really fun to want to buy baby clothes.” However, the star claimed some of the outfits were a little ridiculous to get her daughter across. “There are certain things [kids’ clothes] that I’m like, ‘I can’t do this to him, because they’re so over the top.'”
Hudson’s childhood is an inspiration and guide to how she wanted to raise her daughter. The actress said growing up with the brothers made her tougher.
Hudson isn’t the first Hollywood celebrity to jump on the asexual parenting bandwagon. Pink, Angelina Jolie and Adele have also embraced this parenting philosophy
