Phil Collins, 70, has admitted in excruciating pain that he had to retire from music due to health reasons.
“I have some physical problems, which is very frustrating as I wanted to sing on stage with my son,” he told his colleagues in a rare interview with BBC Breakfast on Thursday. His band Genesis.
“I can barely hold the wand in this hand, so I have some physical issues that prevent me from playing,” the musician added.
The 70-year-old Grammy winner Collins is best known as the soloist and drummer of the progressive rock band Genesis. The beloved band members announced in March 2020 that they were embarking on their reunion tour, The Last Domino? The 2021 championship postponed due to the epidemic, but in April they announced they would “return to America for the first time in 14 years” and also perform in Europe.
Unfortunately, Phil admitted that he could no longer play the drums due to health reasons, so his 20-year-old son Nick replaced his father.

Collins said he does not know if he will be able to play with the band in future tournaments once the pandemic has been postponed.
“We’re all men of a certain age and I think we’re getting a little closer to the end. I think yes, in general, for me (it’s the end of the championships – no), I don’t know if I will still be there, want the road,” he added.
Collins, a music legend, has had many issues with her over the years. He suffered a serious back injury in 2009 and for the first time confirmed that he could no longer play the drums due to a fire.
The singer admitted that he has major problems with his back. “My vertebrae have squeezed my spinal cord out of my sitting position on the drums after years of singing. I can’t even hold the sticks properly without pain. I put the sticks in my hand,” added the artist.
Phil Collins is embroiled in a major scandal with his ex-wife Orian Civi. The two divorced in 2008 but married eight years later.
Last year, however, it all fell apart when Orian secretly married another man in Las Vegas. To hide their relationship, she told Collins she was going to Vegas for work.
When he found out the truth, the artist kicked his wife out of the $40 million mansion and changed all the access codes to the house. Orian threatened him with humiliating overtures from their married life, but the artist did not give up and the two began to judge each other.
