When K-9 Faust hopped into the patrol car with his loyal partner, Senior Special Agent Bryan Schaffer, it was just another working day for the working dog. Faust and Schafer are certified in explosives detection and patrol and have answered hundreds of calls together.
But this particular call was different.
After eight years and a day in the business, it’s time for the trusty K-9 to hang up his badge forever. In a sweet, bitter, and moving moment captured on camera, Schafer sends the puppy the last call.
Fortunately, this farewell was not eternal. According to an update from Agent Schaffer’s Facebook page, he was able to adopt Faust as a permanent member of his family. Watch the bittersweet moment an officer says goodbye to his loyal K-9 partner in the heartbreaking video below.
