A video clip circulated on social media showing the worker snatching the box containing the proposal ring box from a man’s hands while still on one knee.
The man was seen kneeling outside the castle and the crowd could be heard cheering the couple. The woman covers her mouth in disbelief.
The zoo worker is suddenly seen in Mickey Mouse’s ears as he rushes to the stage and pulls the ring out of the man’s hands. Then the employee goes down the stairs and asks the couple to come down.
He hears the man say to the employee:
She said yes.
The employee responds when the spouses are invited to disembark:
Yes, it’s cool, but here it will be even better.
Newsweek reported that a Disney spokesperson decided to remedy the situation and apologized:
Sorry for the way we handled this. We apologized to the couple involved and offered to remedy the situation.
People criticized Disney employees for their interference:
- Try to see if the guy is happier enforcing the rules or ruining the moment. He was was legitimately happier for ruining the moment.
- If a stranger runs and snatches a diamond ring from my hand, you will ruin more than the moment.
- Their pass did not include the optional $149 “Image Viewing” fee
- Unbelievable. Bad manners and misrepresentation of the company he works for.
