A group of eight talented female dancers landed a spot in Ed Sheeran’s official “Galway Girl” music video after impressing with their exceptional routine in an audition tape.
The dancers were contacted soon after their submission and informed that they had been chosen for the video, which they only found out about the day before the shoot. Since being posted on YouTube, their audition video has been viewed over 15 million times.
In the video, the dancers were genuinely surprised to see Ed Sheeran appear, as they had no idea that he would be joining them. The dancers praised Sheeran’s kind and gentlemanly nature, and described the experience as unforgettable.
The Hession School of Irish Dancing, where the dancers are trained, expressed their excitement and pride in the girls’ achievement. The dance also received recognition from the Fusion Fighters, who were thrilled that their #step4sheeran campaign had led to such a successful outcome.
Participating in a project like this is undoubtedly a highlight for the chosen dancers, and their skill and talent have made them a part of a showcase for the city of Galway.
