Despite being deaf, Luiz Gustavo was able to hear after undergoing surgery in which doctors placed an implant in his ear. Unfortunately, the implant eventually stopped working and Louise’s family was unable to repair or replace it.
Upon learning of Luiz’s fate, his community in Bueno Brandao, Brazil, banded together to ensure that Luiz could afford the technology that would allow him to listen again according to Video Rumble.
Louise’s father recorded the moment Louise put on her hearing aid and was able to hear her family speaking to her again. Louise first smiled in astonishment as soon as he could hear her again, then quickly burst into tears as emotion washed over him.
The video of her enthusiastic reaction garnered over 8 million views and captured a beautiful moment when feelings and gratitude overwhelmed Louise and her family.
