Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper may be the last two stars to star as veteran singer-songwriters, but Kris Kristofferson and Barbra Streisand were also part of the “A Star Is Born” legacy. They reunited again to the delight of their fans.
Barbra Streisand had tweeted in April teasing their reunion before it was revealed they would be working together a few months later. The tweet encouraged fans to “stay tuned” to see what she and her friend Kris are up to.
It all came to light in July when Streisand performed in London’s Hyde Park during the city’s British Summer Time festival alongside special guests. She invited singers Richard Marks, Ramin Carmelo, Brian Ferry and the Kingdom Choir to join her on stage for the show which sold out, and the list also included longtime boyfriend and co-star Kris Kristofferson.
CBS reported that they featured him as one of their favorite leading men before they began performing “Lost Inside of You” from the 1976 film. Streisand also performed the single “Evergreen”, which won the Oscar for Best Original Song, a win that was repeated by the 2018 release with the song “Shallow.”
“A Star Is Born” has been produced a total of four times, the 1937 original with French co-stars Janet Gaynor and Frederic March. The 1954 version starring Judy Garland and James Mason, then Babs and Chris came with the 1976 film. The most recent starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in the 2018 sensation.
