Rachel Youngs, a mother from Wilmington, North Carolina, had a chilling experience while shopping at her local Target with her 9-week-old daughter, Waverly. Rachel was approached by a friendly woman who had a dog and made a joking comment about wanting to trade her dog for Rachel’s daughter.

As Rachel continued talking to the woman, she learned that she had a dog grooming business and also babysat on the side. The woman then asked if she could hold Waverly, to which Rachel agreed. However, things took a strange turn when the woman started saying things that made Rachel feel uncomfortable.

The woman, who had introduced herself as Waverly’s godmother, said she wanted to “split everything 50/50” with the baby when she passed away. She also casually mentioned that she had been arrested for attempted kidnapping. Rachel immediately became suspicious and demanded her daughter back.

When the woman reluctantly returned the baby, Rachel immediately alerted Target employees to call the police. The police arrived and informed Rachel that she had voluntarily surrendered her daughter and had committed no crime. However, authorities have identified the woman and are investigating the incident.

Rachel’s experience serves as a reminder to always be vigilant and trust your instincts when it comes to the safety of your children. As a parent, it’s important to be aware of the people around you and to not hesitate to take action if something feels off.
