In Patterson, California, Charlie’s family lost their beloved Chihuahua Mix and thought he would never come home. And then, one day, someone approached Charlie outside their house.
Metro reports that several months after Charlie disappeared from Eva Delgado’s home, the women searched for him to no avail. Suddenly, a lady passed the dog in front of Eva’s house, and Eva noticed it. She wasn’t 100% sure it was Charlie until she called his name. The dog got to know his name and Eva. Then Eva had a confrontation with the woman who insisted the dog was hers.
Eva eventually follows Charlie to a garage where she meets a mechanic working there. The mechanic denied the dog was Charlie and claimed he had papers to own the dog. Eva became suspicious. She had visited the garage before, finding that Charlie had been seen near there when he first disappeared.
Instead of talking to the mechanic, Eva called the police. Eva wisely injected Charlie with a microchip. The police checked the dog for the chip and the identification data came out. Yes, the dog turns out to be Old Charlie.
Charlie now stays with his original family. Eva will assess options for pressing charges. In all honesty, no one knows for sure if Charlie was robbed. He could have escaped and ended up in the garage. In the end, what matters is that he returned to his rightful home and loving family.
