This Californian teenager was afraid for her life.

“It’s inside the house,” Doyin said calmly on a 911 dispatch. “He’s home,” Angie asks, trying to explain the seriousness of his situation.

Doyin was at home when thieves broke into her home. Panicked, she told ABC News that she “took off my shoes because I didn’t want them to hear me, and she took [the phone].”

Then Engy asks, “Where are you? Are you in the bedroom?”

“I’m sitting in my dad’s closet,” Doyin replied.

“Is anyone waiting at home?” Angie asks.

“No, my parents are at work. Alright. Hurry up please,” Doyin whispers.

Doyin heard the thieves approaching his lair. Moments later, Engi asks if Doyin is still able to hear the thieves.

Before Doyin could respond, a man’s voice in the background said, “Bring the bucket, bring the bucket here.” The man they heard was one of the thieves.

When the thieves approached Doyin, Angie could hear every word of their conversation. Engy puts 12 years of experience in dispatching police to work quickly.

“Okay, don’t talk,” she said – then Angie asked Doyin to answer yes or no by just pressing the phone. They stayed as quiet as possible until the intruders left the house a few minutes later.

While Angie kept Dean cool and calm, police cruisers and a helicopter were on their way. When the robbers came out into the hallway, they encountered a swarm of police who immediately arrested them.

Thank you, Angie Rivera, for your quick thinking and good work!
