The customer chimed in and she immediately told Carter, “When I tasted one, it tasted like soap.”
Carter’s face darkened instantly. I don’t know how this could happen.
Then I asked the woman if “Mrs. C” was the name of the store, and she said yes.
“Oh, I heard about you,” she said. Carter wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
After discussing how bad a cupcake is for a minute or two, she tells Carter that she should taste it herself.
Wanting to get rid of the embarrassment behind her, Carter immediately agreed and went to open the box.
Carter looks inside, then immediately lets out a piercing scream, “No!!”
Inside was a stack of cash, and Carter couldn’t believe his eyes.
“Oh my God!!” She said over and over again. She started crying because the woman told her the prize was ten thousand dollars.
The client was actually Jacqueline Ellen Henderson, better known as Jackie O, a radio host in Australia. They had heard of Carter’s fate and wanted to help him change his bad year.
By giving her that extra help, she can spend more time with her son.
