And in an unexpected act of kindness, CBS reported that they rounded up and arrived at Anjem’s farm with all the equipment they needed to start harvesting. More than 40 farmers arrived with semi-trailers, grain wagons and all the equipment they need to work in the fields. They assured Anjem’s family that they would take care of the harvest while he recovered in hospital.
This is the promise they kept. At the end of the day, they had harvested all the grain and stored it in grain baskets. It took seven hours to harvest 1,000 acres of farmland. That’s great teamwork!
The group of farmers also took a photo that the Anjum family will cherish for months and years to come. We cannot imagine anything more merciful and gracious.
The story caught the attention of the media
Don Anderson’s post about the story received thousands of likes and hundreds of comments. The GoFundMe page was started by his daughter, Samantha Coates, who regularly gives updates on her father’s performance.
According to her latest update, Unhjem is still discharged from the hospital this month, but she is still doing well!
