Robert Reed is a 60-year-old janitor at Farmington Elementary School. Only 120 days after getting this job, the school staff and students loved him very much. Robert is a kind man who is happy to help anyone in need. Not only did his kindness not go unnoticed, but also the fact that he struggled to work every day, had no car and had to walk miles to get to school.
The school staff decided to give this guy something to thank him for his kindness and help in his struggle, so they started raising money to help him buy a car.
Life is no walk when you have to take three buses to work, walk miles, and perform the physical labor required to clean an entire school. That’s what Robert did every day of the week, as The Western Journal reports here.
At the end of his workday, he had to catch three buses and walk another two miles to get back to where he lived. It will take Robert 4 hours to get home.
Because Robert was so well liked, some of the people he worked with drove him to the station where he took the bus.
Robert was saving his money to buy a truck he wanted to buy. His desire was to use the truck to start his yard maintenance business.
After realizing how difficult it would be for Robert to get into the business, the people he worked with decided to raise money so he could buy the truck he wanted. It took them 21 hours to raise $7,000.
