Rescued Janine is asked to welcome a young donkey named Colonel Sanders after learning that the person who owns him and his mother don’t know how to properly care for them. Who can say “no” to a cute, fluffy donkey? Unfortunately, Colonel Sanders’ mother, Mary Poppins, was transferred to another animal reserve.
Although Colonel Sanders was well taken care of at animal rescue in Speranza, he soon became depressed once he realized he had been away from his mother. He couldn’t understand why she had suddenly disappeared. He was heartbroken and would often shout, calling her back; But she never answered.
When Mary was brought to the farm, Colonel Sanders peeked through a nearby door to see who the new occupant was. Janine saw that his behavior was clearly changing – the colonel began to jump up and down with enthusiasm, and the call he had made with his mother would melt your heart. Then the two donkeys began to “talk” to each other as if they were telling each other everything the other had missed.
Since mother and baby are together, they are only a few feet apart. They share almost everything and do everything together. Colonel Sanders’ behavior change is simply amazing! It’s now exactly what a little donkey should be: playful, fun-loving, and playful. You even see him chasing a farm cat across the yard.
You have to watch this intimate encounter. According to Janine, “Animals definitely, 100% without a doubt, feel emotions, and experience the same emotions as humans…” She made sure this mother and child were never separated again.
