Doctors informed Nancy that she could still serve as a gestational carrier, but the window was closing due to approaching menopause. With the support of her 59-year-old husband, Jason, Nancy initiated hormone and fertility treatments at home. In February 2022, she underwent an embryo transplant.
The procedure proved successful within just 10 days, and Nancy shared her joy with KSL News, stating, “Bringing another strong baby girl to our family is just really special.” The family received the news in May 2022 that Nancy was expecting a girl, with the due date set for November 2022.
Expressing her astonishment at being pregnant at 56, Nancy told SWNS, as reported by People, “I never imagined I would be pregnant at 56 or that this would be possible, but it is the most beautiful thing.” Cambria, Nancy’s daughter-in-law, expressed profound gratitude, saying, “She is sacrificing so much for us, and our family, and we just feel so grateful. She has been nothing short of amazing and filled with so much light and grace… They say pregnancy comes with a glow, but Nancy’s is a full-on lighthouse.”
In an Instagram clip, Nancy shared that both her son Jeff and Cambria planned to be present in the delivery room when the baby girl arrived.
Jeff acknowledged his parents’ extraordinary act, stating to SWNS via People, “There is no repayment for something like that. All I can do is follow the example my parents have set and try to give that same level of love and devotion to my own family and to others.”
Cambria struggled to find words to express her appreciation, telling KSL News, “It’s been so incredible to be part of this experience with her. I am eternally grateful.”
