This moving video of 11-year-old brown-eyed beauty, Lexi Walker, singing our National Anthem at the Stadium of Fire 2013 is amazing. She shared the stage during her performance with a full-blown choir, but all of their singing voices combined couldn’t hold a candle to hers. Her pitch and range could rival any opera singer and her performance will give you goose bumps. She hits every note perfectly just like a real pro. Her voice control is way beyond her years, and this video will make you want to see and hear much more of this little dynamo.
Lexi is from Cottonwood Heights, Utah, and says she started singing the Beatles song “I Will” when she was just two years old. She first sang the National Anthem at a soccer game in Salt Lake City. She has performed with Mitt Romney and David Archuleta, and has been on Good Morning America, the Queen Latifah Show, and America’s Got Talent.
Her singing performance builds to a crescendo punctuated by some rousing fireworks and the firing of several cannons at the end of this video. Also on-stage that night at Lavell Edwards Stadium were country star Kelly Clarkson, pop star Carly Rae Jepson, and the popular band, The Strike. With that much talent all in one place, it must’ve been an honor and a pleasure for everyone involved.
